Jio Balance Check 2026: USSD Codes, 1299 IVR and MyJio

Your Jio pack is about to run out, you are nowhere near WiFi, and MyJio is refusing to load on 2 bars of signal. The code you want is *333# — dial it and Jio flashes your main balance straight back on screen. For data specifically, *33313# returns the remaining data in your pack.

Both work with no data connection and no app. Here is the full set of Jio balance checks, what each one actually tells you, and which to trust when two disagree.

How to check your Jio balance in 30 seconds

1. Open the dialler on the phone holding the Jio SIM. On a dual-SIM handset, make sure you pick the Jio slot when prompted.
2. Dial *333# and press call. This is Jio's main self-care USSD string.
3. Read the flash message. It shows your main balance and, depending on your circle and plan, the validity date. The box disappears on tap, so capture it first.
4. For data only, dial *33313# instead. This returns the data left in your active pack rather than the rupee balance.
5. If you want it spoken to you, give a missed call to 1299 or dial it — the toll-free IVR reads out balance, validity and your current plan without costing anything.
6. For the complete picture — daily data used, add-on packs, expiry to the hour — open MyJio and read the home screen. This is the most accurate source, because it comes off Jio's own account record rather than a truncated USSD string.

Every Jio balance check, and what each one is for

*333# — main balance

The workhorse. It runs over the signalling channel, not data, so it responds on a phone with no pack left at all. That is exactly the situation you are usually in when you need it. Jio documents it as the main self-care code.

What it does not always show is the granular breakdown: a plan with daily data, unlimited calls and a set of SMS does not compress neatly into one flash message. Use it to answer "am I out?", not "how much of my daily 2GB is left?".

*33313# — data balance

The one to use when the question is specifically about data. It reports what is left in the active data allowance rather than the rupee balance, which is what most people actually mean when they say "balance" on a Jio number.

Missed call or dial 1299 — the IVR route

Jio runs 1299 as a toll-free balance line. Give it a missed call or dial it and the IVR states your balance, the validity date and the plan you are on. It is the best option on a feature phone, and the only one that works if you cannot read the screen easily.

SMS MBAL to 55333

Send the text MBAL to 55333 and Jio replies by SMS with the balance. Slower than USSD but it leaves a record in your inbox, which is genuinely useful when you want to compare what was left before and after a pack activated.

MyJio app — the authoritative view

MyJio is the one place that shows everything at once: main balance, daily data used and remaining, validity to the exact date, active add-on packs, and the recharge history that explains any of it. If USSD and MyJio disagree, MyJio is the one to believe — the short codes return a summarised string, and the app reads the live account.

The cost is that MyJio needs a working data connection, which is the thing you are least likely to have when you are checking whether your data ran out. Keep *333# as the offline fallback.

JioFiber and JioAirFiber

Broadband balance and usage do not come from these mobile short codes. Sign in to MyJio and pick the JioFiber connection, or use the Jio self-care site — the SIM-based codes only cover the mobile number they are dialled from.

When the numbers do not agree

USSD says you have balance but data has stopped. On an unlimited plan with a daily cap, the pack is still valid — you have hit the day's high-speed quota and been throttled. It resets at midnight. The rupee balance is untouched because nothing was deducted; the quota is a separate counter. Check with *33313# or MyJio rather than *333#.

Validity shown is earlier than you expected. Recharges on Jio stack in a specific order, and an add-on data pack does not extend plan validity. The date you see is the plan's expiry, not the add-on's.

No response from the code at all. Try the other SIM slot first. If both fail, the SIM may not be provisioned — put it in a phone and place a call to confirm.

The IVR reads a different balance than the app. IVR data can lag a recharge by a few minutes. Wait and re-check in MyJio.

Do not let the recharge cost more than it should
